Production Shots
 

We’re passionate about photographing live performance. Production shots play a vital role in promoting a show, from marketing and press coverage to archives and funding applications. They need to reflect the atmosphere, scale and emotion of the work on stage.

We photograph theatre, dance and music productions with the aim to capture images that are visually striking and true to the performance.
 

Our approach is to deliver a balanced set of images that tell the story of the production as a whole. 

This typically includes:

• Wide establishing shots to showcase set design, lighting and staging

• Medium and close-up shots that focus on performance and emotional detail

• Images that reflect the director’s vision and the rhythm of the piece

 

We usually recommend photographing the dress rehearsal rather than a performance with an audience.
This allows us to move freely around the space to capture stronger angles and compositions, and work unobtrusively without distracting an audience.
 

We photograph both local and national productions, working with companies, venues and independent artists. Whether it’s a small-scale piece or a large touring show, we approach every production with the same care and attention to detail.
